Energy management projects have a clear commercial case, which informs the design of any project. The energy manager’s role, beyond identifying the need through an energy audit, often requires to design and implement the project. As such, they not only require an understanding of the relevant energy management concepts but also the key steps necessary to bring a project to fruition within their organisation.
The Energy Project Implementation and Management course will provide delegates with an understanding of effective project management, ensuring the timely delivery of energy efficiency and decarbonisation initiatives, while delivering value for money.
This course covers:
- Overview of Energy and Decarbonisation Project Management Scenarios: Structuring projects, managing risks, and resolving issues.
- KPIs and Progress Monitoring: Setting and evaluating key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success.
- Resource Management: Efficient allocation of resources, including budget management, staffing, and procurement.
- Risk and Stakeholder Management: Identifying and managing risks, such as financial and technological challenges. It will also focus on managing stakeholder expectations and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Tools for tracking energy savings, emissions reductions, and project progress, along with reporting results to stakeholders.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the components of project prioritisation, development, and implementation for energy/carbon reduction projects (e.g. setting KPIs, the importance of planning, and monitoring progress).
- Gain an understanding of stakeholder roles and engagement.
- Be able to identify economic and sustainability drivers, along with long-term investment criteria that could affect project management.
