Description
DECARBONISING AND CONSERVING UTILITIES AT DUBLIN CITY UNIVERSITY – 4 December 2024, 11:00-12:00, EMA Live Virtual Event
Dublin City University (DCU) has made significant strides towards achieving its decarbonisation targets, currently reaching nearly 40% of its goal. Over the next five years, DCU has set ambitious objectives to achieve over 60% decarbonisation by 2030.
In an upcoming workshop, Richard Kelly, DCU’s Estates Manager, will share insights gained from DCU’s decarbonisation journey thus far. These insights can be applied to any large energy-consuming organisation seeking to reduce carbon emissions. Additionally, Richard will outline DCU’s new five-year strategic energy plan aimed at meeting the 2030 targets. DCU plans to achieve these targets by expanding its renewable power installations, integrating renewable heat sources (heat pumps), effective energy management, conservation efforts, retrofits, infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements, and control system enhancements.
This session is ideal for those currently undergoing a decarbonisation journey and seeking to compare their experiences and strategies with those of DCU.
The workshop will offer an opportunity to ask questions.
