Published today, Powering Up Britain, the government’s revised net-zero strategy policy paper, sets out the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero’s approach to energy security and net zero, and acts as an introduction to two other documents - Powering Up Britain: Energy Security Plan and Powering Up Britain: Net Zero Growth Plan.
The government plans to increase investment in carbon capture and storage, nuclear, renewable energy, energy efficiency in their Energy Security Plan. The Net Zero Growth Plan outlines how the UK will achieve its climate targets in order to further enhance the original net zero plan which lacked the sufficient level of detail on how the UK would reduce its emissions.
