Heat Network Zoning: An Introduction - 4 January 2024, 14:00-15:00 (GMT), Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) Webinar
Heat networks distribute heat from centralised sources to a variety of different customers, such as public buildings, shops, offices, hospitals, universities, and homes. This could be across entire cities or to a selection of neighbouring buildings.
Heat network zoning will fundamentally transform the development of new heat networks in towns and cities across England. By designating geographic zones where the DESNZ expects heat networks are expected to be the lowest cost solution for decarbonising heat, heat network zoning will give local communities the tools to accelerate the development of heat networks in their towns and cities. Heat network zoning may affect energy management professionals if they - or organisations they work with - have buildings located inside future heat network zones.
On 4th January 2024 (2pm-3pm) the DESNZ will be hosting a webinar where they will present an overview of heat network zoning and explain their plans for creating geographical heat network zones in English towns and cities.
