The Government has commissioned an independent review of its approach to delivering its net zero target outlined in the Net Zero Strategy: Build Back Greener, published in October 2021.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has launched a consultation on “Review of Net Zero: Call for evidence” to understand how the transition can be delivered in a way that supports and delivers the following:
- maximum UK economic growth, investment, opportunities for job, innovation and exports
- UK energy security and affordability for consumers and business and the need to rapidly increase and strengthen UK energy production and supply
- reduction of costs borne by businesses and consumers, particularly in the short-term.
The EMA will be responding to the consultation and we are also accepting responses from the EMA membership. Please provide your consultation response no later than 2pm on 26 October 2022 to [email protected].
