Greenhouse gas reporting - conversion factors 2023 out now
The government conversion factors for greenhouse gas emissions' reporting have been published this week. The factors are for use by UK and international organisations to report the greenhouse gas emissions associated with an organisation’s activities. The carbon emissions need to be converted into ‘activity data’ such as:
- distance travelled
- litres of fuel used
- tonnes of waste disposed
The government conversion factor spreadsheets provide the values to be used for such conversions, and step by step guidance on how to use them. A new set of conversion factors is produced and published each year, together with a methodology explaining how the conversion factors are derived, and a paper explaining the major changes in the latest year’s factors.
